Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2025
New Brunswick Crown Land (the "Service") is operated from Canada. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using this Service you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and an encrypted password. We do not collect your name, address, or phone number unless you voluntarily provide it through the contact form.
Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment provider. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details on our servers. We only receive a transaction confirmation and the last four digits of your card, which Stripe provides for reference.
Usage Data
We collect aggregate usage data through Google Analytics, including pages visited, time spent on pages, approximate geographic location (country/region level), device type, and referring website. This data is anonymized and used solely to improve the Service.
User-Generated Content
If you are a registered user, we store the map markers, saved maps, PDF exports, and itineraries you create. This content is associated with your account and is not shared publicly unless you explicitly choose to do so.
2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use the following types of cookies:
- Session cookies — required for login and CSRF protection. These are deleted when you close your browser.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) — track aggregate usage statistics. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Advertising cookies (Google AdSense) — non-subscriber visitors may see personalized advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ad Settings.
Subscribers with an active paid plan do not see advertisements and their experience is ad-free.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and improve the Service.
- To process payments and manage subscription status.
- To respond to support requests and contact form messages.
- To send transactional emails (password resets, payment receipts).
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with the following third parties, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics — Google Privacy Policy
- Google AdSense — Google Privacy Policy
- Stripe — Stripe Privacy Policy
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., payment records for tax purposes, which we retain for 7 years).
6. Your Rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.

8. Children's Privacy
This Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
